EOSCpilot Governance

How can governance of the EOSC governance be structured to guarantee adequate representation of users & stakeholders and encourage more active participation?

EOSCpilot has drafted a preliminary governance framework with the intention of refining this through open discussion and active involvement of research communities, research institutions, research infrastructures & research funding bodies.
This will help shape and oversee the future development of the EOSC.

Introducing the 5 new Science Demonstrators

The second EOSCpilot Open Call for Science Demonstrators launched in August/September 2017 resulted in the selection of five new Science Demonstrators with activities running from December 2017 to November 2018:

• Switching on the EOSC for Reproducible Computational Hydrology by FAIR-ifying eWaterCycle and SWITCH-ON;
• VisIVO: Data Knowledge Visual Analytics Framework for Astrophysics;
• VisualMedia: a service for sharing and presenting visual media files on the web;
• Frictionless Data Exchange Across Research Data, Software and Scientific Paper Repositorie;
• Mining a large image repository to extract new biological knowledge about human gene function.

EOSC as a ‘skills commons’ for developing research data stewardship skills at scale

This workshop invites trainers and others interested in professional development to help the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) build the future skills necessary for data stewardship, and to obtain their recognition.

Research institutions, domain-specific infrastructures and e-infrastructures all need to nurture skills to become proficient in ensuring research outputs are findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR).

How Research Institutions and Libraries can help deliver the European Open Science Cloud

This EOSC stakeholder event targets research libraries, academic institutions and other research-performing organisations(RPOs), the real intermediaries between researchers and service providers.

Through exchange with peers and speakers participants will discuss the intermediary role of RPOs in the uptake of the EOSC.

This workshop is expected to provide the input for a second stakeholder event to be organised by EOSCpilot later in 2018 engaging intermediaries and funding bodies.

EOSCpilot All Hands Meeting

The second EOSCpilot All Hands Meeting will take place on 8-9 March 2018 at CNR in Pisa, Italy.

The meeting is open to everyone involved with EOSCpilot work packages, including the Science Demonstrators.

The aim is to assemble and engage all those working on EOSCpilot to: identify future activities, broaden the knowledge of Science Demonstrators, and create synergies with the EOSCHub project.
