Anca Hienola holds a PhD in Atmospheric Physics and has over 17 years’ experience in atmospheric sciences and climate change research. Her expertise extends from new particle formation, contact phenomena, organic compounds nucleation to global and regional climate modelling. She has 18 peer-reviewed publications and one of her first-author paper was cited in the latest Special IPCC report on Global Warming of 1.5degrees.

Vanessa Hannesschläger completed her studies in German Language and Literature at the University of Vienna with a diploma thesis on Peter Handke. She gained experience in working with archival material in a digital context in online projects on Peter Handke and Ernst Jandl, which inspired her interest in standardization and preservation of (meta)data, digitization processes, and the semantic web’s potential benefits for the arts and humanities.

Pascal Kahlem (PhD) (M): Coordinator of the Training Platform of the ELIXIR Research Infrastructure and owner of Scientific Network Management SL (Spain registered). PhD in Human Genetics at the University Paris VII (France) in 1999. He pursued 3 Post-docs on Human Genetics successively at the CNRS (Paris, France), Max-Planck-Institute (Berlin, Germany) and Charité Hospital (Berlin, Germany).

Philippe Segers Head of European High Performance Computing (HPC) projects for GENCI, the French HPC agency, where he manage the contribution of the French partners (CEA/CNRS/University and Inria) to the PRACE projects, member of PRACE Technical Board and Management Board, and he was work-package leader of the PRACE Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) on “Whole System Design for Energy Efficient HPC” (procurement of R&D for Finish, French, German, Italian and UK partners).

 Eva Méndez holds a PhD in Library and Information Sciences (LIS) and is an expert in metadata. She defines herself in her Twitter profile as an ‘open knowledge militant’ (@evamen). She has been a lecturer at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), LIS department since 1997.She has been an active member of several international research teams, advisory boards and communities including: DCMI, OpenAire, Metadata2020, RDA, etc. In 2005-06 she was awarded a Fulbright Research Scholarship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (USA).

Mr. Kostas Koumantaros, Msc, is a Project Manager and Software Engineer on GRID and Cloud Technologies at GRNET SA. He obtained the Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering in July 1999 from the University of Essex. He subsequently pursued an MSc in Advanced Computer Science Software Engineering degree from the University of Manchester, which he obtained with excellent marks in October 2000. Since October 2002 he is part of GRNET Technical Department as the manager of GRNET's Open Source Promotion and Development Initiative and member of the Hellasgrid Task Force.

Bob Jones is a leader of the Helix Nebula initiative (http://www.helix-nebula.eu/), a public private partnership to explore the use of commercial cloud services for science applications. He is the coordinator for the HNSciCloud Horizon 2020 Pre-Commercial Procurement project (http://www.hnscicloud.eu/) which is procuring innovative cloud services to establish a cloud platform the European research community.

Sy Holsinger is currently a Senior Policy and Strategy Officer at the EGI Foundation working on sustainability planning, business model development, market analysis and IT service management implementation. Sy studied Business Communications and Management in the U.S. focusing on project and financial management, business development, marketing and communication messaging. He has been involved in several EU-funded projects covering both management and support roles such as leading the commercial activities in the series of EGEE projects. His previous experiences include the U.S.

Mariagrazia is a biologist with a PhD in marine ecology, marine resources management and conservation. Mariagrazia has a background in experimental ecology methods to highlight biodiversity changes in relation to human impacts and protection measures (Marine Protected Areas) and in applying causal framework (such as Driving-Pressure-State-Impact-Response) to describe the interactions between society and the environment. She joined the JRC in October 2013 to support the BIOPAMA project. She is also a contact point within JRC for the Caribbean region in BIOPAMA.
